Sweet potato in Australia

The Bundaberg region in Queensland grows the majority of Australia's sweet potatoes, with further production around Cudgen in northern NSW, Atherton and Western Australia. Gold (Beauregard-type) varieties dominate, with red and purple types for niche lines.

Sweet potatoes are cured and stored at 13–15 °C – never colder – so cool rooms run warmer than for other vegetables, and long-stored lots must be tracked by age.
